National Parks Gallery publishes independent, practical visitor guides for the US National Park System.
Our editorial team has collectively visited hundreds of parks across the country. We write what we wish we’d known before our first visit: which trails are worth the effort, when to arrive to beat the crowds, where to find the best photography light, and how to make the most of limited vacation time.
We are not affiliated with the National Park Service or any government agency. Our guides are based on firsthand experience and ongoing research.
Our Team
Sarah Kimberley is a Colorado-based outdoor writer who has visited more than 180 national parks. Her focus is on Rocky Mountain parks, Colorado Plateau, and the Great Basin. She is also a landscape photographer whose work has appeared in outdoor publications.
Marcus Delano covers eastern parks, historical monuments, and the national battlefields. A former park ranger turned freelance writer, he brings an interpretive perspective to visitor guides that goes beyond trail distances and parking logistics.
Julia Navarro specializes in Alaska’s national parks — some of the most spectacular and least-visited in the system. She writes about backcountry preparation, wildlife behavior, and the practical realities of remote park visits.
Editorial Standards
All guides are written by our team and updated regularly to reflect current conditions. We do not accept compensation for editorial coverage. Where we include links to booking platforms or gear retailers, these may be affiliate links that support our operations — always noted when present.
