Reverend Jeffrey Dugan, 55, pastor of a church in Farmington, Connecticut, was seriously injured when he fell on rocks near Otter Cliffs on April 15th. Dugan was hiking along the Shore Path between Otter Cliffs and Otter Point when he apparently lost his footing and fell about 15 feet onto the rocks below. Rescue crews were able to reach Dugan and haul him back up. A LifeFlight helicopter landed on the Otter Cove causeway and took Dugan to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was treated for a broken thigh bone. The rescue took about 40 minutes. Park rangers were joined by rescuers from Bar Harbor Fire and Police departments, Mount Desert Police Department and MDI Search and Rescue.
