Following nearly two years of meetings and planning, George Washington Birthplace NM and Englandâs Sulgrave Manor have signed a sister park agreement.
The document was signed on Thursday, December 6th, by superintendent Vidal Martinez and Sulgave Manor director Wendy Barnes.
The park and Sulgrave Manor, which is one of two ancestral Washington family homes in England, together represent the link between the Washington family in England and in Virginia. The two sites seek to understand each otherâs history and significance so that a complete story about the Washington family can be understood and shared with the public.
During the meeting, the two managers discussed future possibilities for cooperation.
