2012 Denali Artist-in-Residence Deborah Bouchette describes her creation "Chaucer." A contraption she built to tell the tale of the coming and going on the landscape of Denali. Chaucer is made up of pieces of pvc pipe, with rubber bands and pens hanging. The device is fit to her backpack. As she walks it records the "energies" of the landscape.
Deborah spent ten days at the historic East Fork Cabin at the heart of the park in early June 2012. As part of our media program the Media Studenct Conservation Association intern, Alex Vanderstuyf, interviewed the artist during her residency. This video is from along the East Fork of the Toklat River.
