Typewriter Refugee
As you enter the museum you are allowed to take one tag per family. This tag is an actual reproduction and represents an individual's story at Manzanar. The story on my tag was about a Japanese writer who was captured and put into Manzanar. Pictured here is the original typewriter he used when they confiscated it in the early-40s. Manzanar was one of ten internment camps in the United States during the early-40s which relocated Japanese-American families during World War 2.
